Sky Blue Radio is back with another scenery spotlight—this time for the bustling skies over the UK! If you're flying in and out of London Gatwick (EGKK) in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, iniBuilds just pushed a small but impactful update that smooths out some of the rough edges and delivers a touch more realism to your virtual layovers.
Version 1.0.1 may be a dot release, but it packs a punch with visual tweaks and sim stability fixes:
Fixed Jetway Animations: The hood on the glass jetways now animates correctly. No more awkward boarding bridges just hovering there like confused sci-fi contraptions.
Interior Geometry Added: Glass jetway “nubs” now feature internal door geometry. It’s a small detail, but simmers know—it’s the little things that bring a terminal to life.
Gate Numbers Light Up Again: Emissive textures on gate number signs are now functioning properly. Pilots and passengers can once again see where they're headed, even during late-night arrivals.
South Terminal Fix (SU2): An odd rendering issue where parts of the South Terminal vanished when arriving from another airport has been resolved. It’s back—and it’s solid.
Lighting Adjustments (SU2): iniBuilds removed a light point effect from the glass jetways that was causing performance hiccups for some users.
Industrial Estate Cleanup (SU2): Flickering dirt textures on nearby industrial estate buildings have been stabilized. Because no one wants their immersion broken by poltergeist grime.
iniBuilds continues to show love for its sceneries post-launch, and this update to Gatwick is a testament to their commitment to quality. Whether you’re running full passenger ops or just buzzing around southern England in a GA bird, EGKK is looking and performing better than ever.
