The Microsoft Flight Simulator team has released their latest development update, and it's packed with exciting news for virtual aviators.

Sim Update 2 for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 is officially live. This update brings a comprehensive list of improvements, fixes, and enhancements across the simulator. Players can now experience a more refined and stable flight simulation environment.

Sim Update 3 Beta Begins Tomorrow

In a swift move, the beta for Sim Update 3 is set to commence tomorrow. Players using the Microsoft Store and Xbox platforms should watch for a new post detailing an updated process for joining the beta. Steam users will not be affected by this.

Sim Update 16 Beta for MSFS 2020 Coming Soon

The team is also preparing for the Sim Update 16 beta for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020, which will be launching very soon. More information will be shared as the release approaches.

SDK Updates

The SDK has received several updates in Sim Update 2:

• In the "Aircraft / Wheels" debug window GUI, the indication of the load (weight) acting on the wheels has been made more informative and less confusing.

• Fixed an issue where the avatar was not placed in the aircraft when changed using the aircraft selector.

• Fixed Aircraft Selector not correctly updating the lighting and pilot position.

• Fixed Metal and Roughness channel display.

• Fixed crash when building a package that does not include release notes for its current version.
