Microsoft Flight Simulator has released City Update 10: United States I, delivering a refreshed look at five major American cities: Dallas, Fort Worth, Denver, San Francisco, and Honolulu. This update brings a new level of detail and realism, making these iconic skylines even more immersive for virtual pilots.
Using the latest high-resolution aerial imagery and elevation data, each city has been recreated with improved textures and 3D models. The update takes advantage of triangulated irregular network (TIN) surface modeling, enhancing the depth and accuracy of cityscapes like never before.
There’s a slight hiccup for some users running the non-beta version of MSFS 2024, where photogrammetry data in Dallas and Honolulu may not display correctly. Microsoft is already on it, and users running MSFS 2020 or those participating in the 2024 Sim Update 2 beta won’t experience this glitch.
To explore these upgraded cities, make sure your sim is updated. Head to the in-game Marketplace, search for “City Update 10,” download the pack, and restart your sim. Once loaded, you’ll be set to cruise above stunningly detailed versions of these iconic locations.
This update is a treat for sightseers and VFR flyers looking for a more authentic experience across the U.S. skies.
