The ten longest routes are flown by MAX 8s.

The Boeing 737 is one of the most popular aircraft families in commercial aviation. Since the American manufacturer decided to create a new generation of 737s, the MAX family, many orders have been placed for the narrowbodies. Though the planes have had several problems, customers continue to trust Boeing, like American Airlines, which added MAX 10s to its order book earlier this week.

According to Boeing’s website, the MAX family has a maximum range between 3,100 and 3,800 nautical miles, or 3,567-4,372 miles, depending on the variant. Only two variants have been certified and are in active operations so far, the MAX 8 and 9. Cirium data shows that the longest MAX 8 route in the world covers 3,864 miles, nearly hitting the maximum range of 4,027 miles. The longest MAX 9 flight covers 3,384 miles, nearly 400 miles shorter than the maximum range of 3,797 miles.

This month, the longest Boeing 737 MAX route in the world is the MAX 8 route mentioned above, flown by TUIfly Nordic. The 3,864 miles are flown between Helsinki Airport in Finland and Aristides Pereira International Airport in Boa Vista, Cabo Verde. According to data, TUIfly has just one flight scheduled this month. The second-longest route is also flown by TUIfly to Cabo Verde. The flight from Helsinki to Amílcar Cabral International Airport (SID) on Sal Island is only 36 miles shorter than to Boa Vista.

Brazilian carrier GOL, which has entered the Chapter 11 Bankruptcy process in the United States, has the third-longest route. One of several airlines worldwide that only operate Boeing 737 aircraft, GOL uses its fleet of MAX 8s to connect Brazil to the US. Its route from Aeroporto Internacional de Brasília – Presidente Juscelino Kubitschek to Orlando International Airport is 3,778 miles long.

Young Dominican carrier Arajet, which operates a small fleet of MAX 8s, has the number four spot this month. Priding itself on connecting the Americas via its hub at Aeropuerto Internacional Las Américas (SDQ), the young airline is already reaching destinations near and far, like São Paulo, Cancun, and Buenos Aires. The flight from SDQ to Aeropuerto Internacional Ministro Pistarini (EZE), commonly called Ezeiza, is 3,734 miles.

Rounding out the top five is another TUIfly Nordic route from Stockholm. The flight from Stockholm Arlanda Airport to Boa Vista is 3,636 miles long. According to data, just one weekly flight is scheduled on the route this month.

Number six is interesting as it was launched less than a year ago and is the first MAX route flown by this airline. Virgin Australia has nonstop service from Cairns Airport to Haneda International Airport in Tokyo and connects the two daily. The flight from Cairns to Haneda is 3,627 miles.

Below is a table with the ten longest routes this month:
