During FlightSimExpo 2024, SoFly has announced its upcoming roadmap for EcoSoundScapes.
To begin, SoFly has confirmed it will find ways to bring it to Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 as a free update. Our commitment to the community with products released in 2024 will be that anything released will be made forward-compatible at no extra charge to the community.
Whilst that work awaits SDKs from Microsoft, SoFly is hard at work on taking on community feedback following the release of EcoSoundScapes earlier this month. We will be adding more sounds effects and splitting up some types into more granular areas. For example, we will be adding ‘General Aviation’, ‘Regional Airport’ and ‘International Airports’ to refine further where specific sounds play.
New sound effects are also coming to aircraft. We don’t want to just enhance the environment, but every aircraft as well. Our plan with the next major version is to add additional aircraft sound effects like rattle, pilot’s coughing, vibrations, and the sounds of the galley. This will, again, be split into aircraft sizes to help make sure you only hear sounds relevant to your scenario.
Also, for the first time for Xbox users specifically, we are planning on adding ATC voices so your skies will finally feel alive. More information on this coming soon.
Following that, we are looking to build a whole new revised version that will be able to ‘read’ your simulator and automatically inject and play sounds globally without the need for anyone to manually place sound effects. This is a longer-term plan, but one we are aiming to complete to ensure that EcoSoundScapes really offers a truly immersive experience.
We are excited by what the future of EcoSoundScapes holds. And of course, all these updates will be free for all once they are ready.
In the meantime, customers can buy EcoSoundScapes from all major vendors right now, including via the in-sim Marketplace for PC and Xbox.
