ORBX took to their forum page to announce an upcoming rendition of Bolzano Airport (LIPB) for Microsoft Flight Simulator.

This scenery will be developed by Andreas Hegi, who visited the airport in real life to gather information for the rendition. This included hundreds of pictures and personal observations.

Firstly, the scenery will feature a true-to-life model of the main terminal building. Both the exterior and interior of the building will feature realistic HD textures. These textures come from the photos taken by Andreas.

Additionally, the scenery will feature custom night lighting, allowing nocturnal flyers to enjoy the airport during late hours.

Furthermore, the scenery will feature the military section of the airport. This includes the Carabinieri and Guardia di Finanza sections and the 4th Army Aviation Regiment apron.

Other notable objects of the airport will feature in this rendition. This includes an Italy Air Force DC-3 and miscellaneous signs.

Finally, the scenery will feature a revised layout based on the extension of runway 01/19.

Unfortunately, the developer did not disclose any information regarding the pricing or release date of the product.

Bolzano Airport is a small regional airport near Bolzano in northern Italy. Surrounded by the Dolomitic Alps, the airport only features a short 1400m runway. This gives it a picturesque and challenging nature. Currently, the sole operator out of Bolzano is SkyAlps. Destinations include Berlin, Dusseldorf and Hamburg.
