September 9th, 2025 – FlightControlTools has rolled out the first update for FlightControlSpotter, the tower and spotting camera utility for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024. Version 1.01 is now available, addressing early user feedback and further refining the experience for virtual spotters, screenshot creators, and aviation enthusiasts.

Update Highlights

The new release focuses on stability improvements and fixes to ensure smoother operation within the simulator. The changelog for v1.01 includes:

  • Fixed bug with SpotView and Tower View enable/disable buttons management

  • Resolved issue of empty Tower View spot

These refinements build on the add-on’s core appeal—allowing simmers to instantly switch perspectives, follow AI or multiplayer traffic, and enjoy the simulator from new, immersive angles directly through an in-sim toolbar panel.

Strong Debut

Since its launch, FlightControlSpotter has proven to be a hit with the flight simulation community. It quickly climbed to #2 in SIMMARKET’s weekly top sales rankings, reflecting the high level of interest among users.

How to Update

Registered users are advised to uninstall their current version before installing v1.01. The updated installer package can be downloaded directly from each user’s SIMMARKET account.

FlightControlTools also reminds simmers that FlightControlSpotter remains available at a reduced introductory price through September 28th, 2025.
