Marketplace Content Management
Users can now enable or disable Marketplace 2020 ported content on a per-item basis, granting greater control over their libraries. By default, non-Microsoft ported content is disabled, allowing users to selectively activate desired items. Following the update, previously available aircraft will need to be re-enabled in ‘My Library’ to become accessible again. Additional Marketplace 2020 ported content is expected to be available soon.
Stability and Performance Improvements
The update addresses several stability issues:
- Resolved crashes related to the audio system, FX system, lever interactions, and scientific research missions.
- Reduced memory usage for aircraft gauge textures generated by WASM, decreasing out-of-memory crashes on Xbox with WASM-enabled aircraft.
- Fixed crashes occurring during flight plan creation at certain airports and when using the Electronic Flight Bag (EFB).
- Improved latency with HTTP requests.
- Addressed a crash in the hardware settings of the Tobii Eye Tracker device.
A new feature prompts users to launch the simulator in Safe Mode if a crash occurred during the previous session, aiding in troubleshooting and ensuring a smoother experience.
Recommendations for Users
PC users are advised to move outdated packages from the Community Folder to another location before relaunching the simulator to prevent potential stability issues or prolonged loading times.
For Xbox Series X|S users, the initial loading time into Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 may be longer than usual due to the deactivation of Marketplace 2020 ported content.
This update underscores the commitment to enhancing user control and improving the overall stability and performance of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.
