Brazilian developer TropicalSim has released their updated rendition of Kansas City International Airport (KMCI) for Microsoft Flight Simulator in less than a year. They shared this information via SimMarket.
The most important addition in this update is the recently opened single terminal, which was still under construction in the previous version of the add-on. Having the new terminal added to the KMCI airport scenery will enhance the realism and accuracy of the simulation experience, allowing users to explore and enjoy the airport’s latest infrastructures. Here is presented a comparison between the looks of the terminal in the previous and new version:
According to TropicalSim, this new terminal features a full interior model with Physically Based Rendering (PBR) textures specially fitted for changing-light environments. Also, they have introduced new custom jetways and implemented an up-to-date ground layout. Even the most important airlines have assigned their real-life parking gates.
Kansas City International Airport was opened in 1972 replacing the old Kansas Municipal. It is located 15 miles from the business district of Kansas City and serves all of the Kansas City Metropolitan Area. More than ten airlines operate in Kansas City International, Southwest Airlines being the most relevant. Through its three runaways, airliners take-off to cities all across North America including New York, Los Angeles, Cancun and Toronto.
