The Workshop #24 – Sim Update 5 Compatibility, Custom Model, Reworked Textures
Written by FlyByWire on August 14, 2021
Welcome to the twenty-fourth installment of The Workshop – a series dedicated to the latest news and updates regarding FlyByWire’s work on the A32NX and the upcoming A380. The guys from FlyByWire Simulations are back with new information on the compatibility of the A32NX with Sim Update 5, information on the custom model that is currently being developed, and new features that have been introduced in the past few weeks or are being worked on.
Compatibility with Sim Update 5
While the development version was compatible day-one with Sim Update 5, we have also updated the v0.6.0 Stable version to v0.6.3.
You can install the Stable v0.6.3 release from our installer.
Note: Not available on MSFS Marketplace.
We have started a complete remodel of the A32NX. This includes an entirely custom exterior and interior model, with very high accuracy and texture detail. While we cannot promise a time-frame for this project, it will bring a huge upgrade to the visual fidelity of the aircraft. Stay tuned for more updates!
Features of the Week
This week, some features or improvements have been merged into the latest development version of the aircraft.
Completely reworked textures
We have re-done the cockpit textures for the current model to be more accurate to the level of wear present in an A320neo. Take a look below:

While this is not modelled to any significant extent yet, we have done foundational work to enable failures support going forward.Improved sound effects for some cockpit switchesPixelated screensThanks to the quick feedback from the community, we have improved the feature to eliminate Moiré (grid) effects and are making adjustments to remove flashes and various brightness inconsistenciesUnmirrored Sharklet textures for livery painters More info here: https://docs.flybywiresim.com/a32nx-dev/texture-changes/EFB usability improvementsPower buttonPersistent OFP font size settingRewritten standby instrument set
