Stairport Sceneries Releases Kassel XP

Written by on September 12, 2021

Stairport Sceneries have earlier this week, in cooperation with FlightSim Studio AG, released their rendition of Kassel Airport (EDVK) for X-Plane 11. Officially known as “Kassel XP” , the scenery was for the first time quietly announced to be in development back in late August earlier this year.

Located pretty much in the heart of Germany, near the city of Kassel, the airport does not see much traffic outside the season. However, during the season, you can find charter airlines connecting the airport with Greece, Spain, or Turkey, for example. The airport operates a single asphalt runway and has only one terminal. There is also a flight school and a parachuting school based at the airport.

The scenery itself offers custom color-corrected orthophoto imagery covering the airport area as well as custom mesh by Maps2XPlane with Ortho4XP patch available. Further, custom PBR textures are present on the ground, the developers worked also on HDR lighting for the best immersion even during the nighttime, or have accurately placed custom vegetation around the scenery.

Not to forget, the developers at Stairport Sceneries made sure that the scenery is fully compatible with SAM Seasons and offer animated marshallers for proper navigation when arriving to your designated gate or stand. The complete feature list can be found, as usual, below.

The scenery can be purchased through Aerosoft’s website for a decent price of €12.56 with VAT excluded.
