PMDG just added another bird to the MSFS 2024 hangar: the PMDG 737-600NG, built natively for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.
And yes, it’s the shortest NG. No, it’s not “less of a 737.” It’s the airline equivalent of a compact sport sedan that still wants you to respect the throttle.
PMDG describes this as a significant update intended to ensure performance and longevity in MSFS 2024. Translation: they’re not just dragging-and-dropping the old package into a new sim. This is positioned as a proper 2024-native evolution.
The 737-600 for MSFS 2024 is available via the PMDG store, and they note discount eligibility for existing MSFS 2020 customers (check your account at checkout for the exact pricing shown to you).
That’s an easy blog win: “what it costs, who gets a discount, and why the -600 is a sneaky-good addition.”
The -600 is great because it does a few things really well:
Hand-flying feels crisp. Less length means less “bus steering” energy.
It’s a procedures trainer without feeling like homework. You still get the full airline flow, but the airframe feels lively.
It fits routes where the -800 feels like overkill. Quick hops, tighter ops, regional vibes.
Some folks will look at the -600 and say “why not the bigger one?” Those folks also order the largest drink size even when they’re not thirsty.
The -600 is the one you fly when you want 737 systems fidelity but also want the aircraft to feel like it’s in the room with you, not three zip codes long. It’s the “I’m here to fly” 737.
