PilotEdge Sunday Event: Nobody Goes to Fresno v2!

Written by on February 14, 2020

Scheduled events are a great way to experience the network running in high gear, with extra ATC staffing and LOTS of live traffic!

This month’s event features the ZLA operating area and just like the inaugural Nobody Goes to Fresno event from March of 2018, we won’t be featuring Fresno in this event either!

Instead, turbojets will depart from Las Vegas on a two leg trip while pistons will start at Santa Barbara for their two leg trip. Turboprops are welcome to fly either set of routes.

For more information, including special air traffic procedures that will be in effect for the event and preferred routes, check the event thread in the PilotEdge forum.

If you’re an active ZLA subscriber and you feel proficient in your ability to conduct the flights in congested airspace, please do join us for a busy afternoon of flying between those city pairs.

Otherwise, if you’re a Western US only subscriber, hang tight until next month’s event which will be WUS-centric, or you can do an in-place upgrade to a combo sub through the Account Center so you can enjoy both coverage areas and all of the upcoming events.

A few things to know since it’s been a while since we last reached out:

1) Our Discord community is thriving with 300-350 people logged in throughout most of the day. If you’re looking to sync up with other flight simulator enthusiasts, it’s an outstanding resource.

2) Need some guidance on ATC communications? We offer a VFR Communications Manual and an IFR Communications Manual  (sold through our close friends at Pilotworkshops) which can certainly help. These are high quality references produced by a mainstay in the pilot training business, and I do not say that lightly. If you are interested in learning more about comms, those manuals are gold.

3) New merch store coming soon, because, everyone needs a hat or a shirt.

4) Updates on the next Newbie Night also coming soon.

5) More branded flying challenges also coming soon.

6) ZLA is super busy on weekends, we know. We’re going to be testing a few staffing configurations and bolstering our ‘second position’ staffing as much as possible to accomodate.
