Orbx Releases Split Airport for MSFS

Written by on August 28, 2021

The developers at Orbx’s Havant Studio have earlier today released a new rendition of Split Airport (LDSP), Croatia’s second busiest airport and a major tourist destination during the summer months, for Microsoft Flight Simulator.

As previously mentioned, the scenery was developed using the latest technologies currently available to match current Orbx standards. Not only does it accurately replicate the airport itself in the simulator, but also covers the surrounding area with custom color-matched photoreal imagery with points of interest like churches, stadiums, bridges, and marinas.

As with the airport, it has been recreated using high-resolution textures with PBR materials. Additionally, the interior of the terminal is depicted in the scenery together with detailed ground polygons and dynamic lighting.

The scenery can be purchased through Orbx’s website for about €14. You can also make the purchase through the Orbx Central application.

The airport was in the past, earlier this year, brought to Prepar3D by the team at Orbx, and to X-Plane 11 by Stairport Sceneries back in February, as well earlier this year.

For those unfamiliar with the airport, Split Airport (LDSP) is the second busiest airport in the country. Located just a few miles out of the Split city center, it is an airport mainly visited during the season by Croatia Airlines, Wizz Air, or easyJet, for example. While it is a small single-runway airport, it sees routes not only to, and from, continental Europe, but the Middle East and Russia as well.
