Orbx Releases Hammerfest Airport for MSFS
Written by George on October 9, 2021
In a post on their Facebook page, Orbx has earlier today announced the release of a new creation from Finn Hansen. This time bringing the northernmost town with over 10,000 residents, Hammerfest, to Microsoft Flight Simulator.
The area around Hammerfest is specific to the continuous daylight during the summer months and challenging approach to the Hammerfest Airport’s short and sloped runway sitting on a plateau above the city.
We reported on the scenery announcement just about a week ago. It offers exactly what would you expect from a scenery released for Microsoft Flight Simulator today. This includes terraforming, crisp orthoimagery for the airport and the nearby city, or custom 3D terminal interior.
For the helicopter pilots between us, a few helipads were recreated around the scenery to explore. One, as can be seen above in the previews, is located just on top of the local LNG facility.
Finn Hansen has previously released in cooperation with Orbx his renditions of Sandefjord and Ålesund airports for Prepar3D. As far as we know, this is the first scenery from him for the new platform, Microsoft Flight Simulator.
The scenery can be purchased through Orbx’s website or alternatively Orbx Central application for about €14.35 with taxes excluded.
