New Look at PILOT’S Upcoming DHC-7 for MSFS, From AviationLads

PILOT’S De Havilland DHC-7 is set to come soon to Microsoft Flight Simulator. The team has published a first-look video showcasing the hard work they have done on the aircraft which is to be the first quad turboprop-engined regional airliner in MSFS.

The 1-minute first-look video, produced by amazing AviationLads, shows the aircraft starting as well as climbing out of an airport. The video gives a small look into the cockpit of the DHC-7, with a focus on the various analogue instruments that we’ll be able to fly with, and includes a look at multiple avionic setups we’ll be able to opt-in to use within the cockpit.

Included in this are five different liveries for both current and previous operators of the aircraft, with more free liveries to come from community painters in the future, at least to PC owners of MSFS.

Whilst the first look video has been released, we don’t have any indications of either the price or the addon release date. The only thing the video mentioned is that the addon is “coming soon“.

Keep an eye on the FSNews page for more updates! If you want to read more about the project, you can read Noah’s article on the previous previews of the DHC-7 for MSFS the team shared.

The Dash 7 is the spiritual precursor to the de Haviland Comet Dash 8, which has gained wide regional usage popularity. The Dash 7, unlike the Dash 8, is a 4-engined turboprop with extreme STOL capabilities. The quirky airliner never saw widespread adoption, with only 113 being produced, in contrast to the 1,200+ Dash 8s.

The Dash 7 would be the only quad turboprop-engined regional airliner available to flight simmers in MSFS, making it a well-placed addition for those interested in classic regional flight.
