The development team of MM Simulations has today taken to their Facebook page to announce the release of the third-largest airport of the Azores, Horta Airport.
About Horta AirportMM Simulations Horta Airport in MSFSFeatures
It is an airport located near Castelo Branco, southwest of Horta’s city centre on Faial Island in the Azores, Portugal.
The airport was opened in 1971 and TAP initiated direct flights with their Boeing 737s back in 1985 to Ponta Delgada.
In 2001, the airport had undertaken a massive expansion, in order to serve flights to the rest of Azores’ islands, as well as Portugal’s capital, Lisbon.
Currently, there are not many flights operated from this airport, only domestic ones to Lisbon with Azores Airlines and SATA Air Acores to Corvo, Flores, Ponta Delgada and Terceira.
It is especially interesting for virtual pilots due to its short runway and breathtaking surrounding area with a landscape of the islands and the Atlantic Ocean.
MM Simulations created a detailed scenery with an accurately modelled terminal and 3D interior. The terminal and other models also offer PBR textures, enhancing the experience by making all the textures behave more realistically. For the airport’s environment, MM Simulations made custom, animated people and objects that roam around the airport.
As for the surroundings, these are custom, too, with real-world terraforming profile and custom objects that are not exactly related to the airport.
Accurately modelled terminal and interior
Custom night lighting
Custom parking positions matching real life
Custom surroundings
Custom people and animated objects
PBR Materials

You can get this scenery via Orbx Direct and their Central app for approximately €14.87. If you would like to learn more about MM Simulations and their work, make sure to read our article on their recent Liege release.
