MK-Studios, a well-known scenery developer, has taken to their Facebook page to announce the release of their Lisbon Airport (LPPT) rendition for Microsoft Flight Simulator.
The developer has stated that this rendition is modelled to a very high degree of accuracy. The thorough use of PBR textures enhances the realism of the airport artefacts. The scenery also includes a simplified terminal interior, giving the rendition a true identity.
Additionally, the developer includes satellite imagery to model the airport’s surrounding area. The implemented custom mesh also replaces the slope of the runway.
Lisbon Humberto Delgado Airport (also known as Portela Airport) is an international airport located 7km from the city centre of Lisbon, the capital of Portugal. Initially used as a seaplane hub, the airfield experienced rapid growth following the end of WW2. It also serves as the main hub for TAP Air Portugal.
Lisbon Aiport consists of two terminals, Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. The airport operates solely with a 3700m long runway (03/21) and can easily accommodate large aircraft. Destinations from the Portuguese capital include sunny Sao Paulo, majestic Madeira or even windy Praia.
