MegaSceneryEarth has announced that it will close permanently at the end of 2025. The company’s store and website will go offline on December 31, 2025, marking the end of more than two decades of producing high-resolution photoscenery for flight simulation.

According to the announcement, the decision comes after years of declining sales and the challenges of maintaining infrastructure for an aging product line. While the company hasn’t developed new titles in several years, it has continued to support existing products.

Customers can still purchase scenery through the end of 2025, including a final “complete collection” offer featuring all 48 contiguous U.S. states for $99.95. The package includes roughly 1.8 TB of scenery data covering more than 3 million square miles.

Those who already own products will be able to download them until December 31, 2026. The activation server will remain online beyond that date, allowing continued use and reinstallation. Users are urged to create multiple offline backups of their scenery files before the shutdown.

The announcement also notes that the company is open to potential buyers who may wish to continue the MegaSceneryEarth brand and products.

This closure marks the end of an era for one of the original names in photoreal flight simulation scenery.
