I am very excited to do this review. I have never had the chance in real life to go see Paris, France but I have to say that that would be an awesome thing to go do sometime. I may have flown over it at about 39000 feet but I never had the chance to get up close and personal. The video’s I have seen of Paris and the surrounding areas show that it is a real beautiful area. I am very interested to see what ORBX has done with this scenery pack for MSFS 2020.. Lets begin!

Once you purchase the package on the ORBX website or in ORBX Central, just download the product and the ORBX Central app will install the scenery in the main flight sim directory or any other location you choose. The download is approx. 1.5GB in size. It uses 3.1GB on your hard drive when installed. A fairly small download compared to most programs you download nowadays.

The Product

All I can is say is WOW! I have already had the opinion that the default “Normal” scenery is pretty top notch in any standard of flight sim. The add-on scenery of this product just pushed that bar up about three notches. Its was pretty amazing in both day and night environments. They modeled at least 15 Paris landmarks in very high level of detail. Some of those include Notre Dame, Panthéon, The Centre Pompidou, École Militaire, and Église Saint-Sulpice. Those 15 landmarks is just a small sampling of some of the High and Medium-level of graphical updates and changes they did on the Paris metropolitan area. They did many terrain and terraforming updates in the area also..

The Graphics

The level of detail that they did on this package is just amazing! All I can say, The bigger of a beast PC that you may have, the better it will look. When I fly around the USA, I normally get between 30-50 FPS. When I took off from Charles DE Gaulle Paris Airport on my review flight, my frame rate immediately took a dip down to between 5-10 FPS. It climbed back up to 15-20 FPS after a few minutes but you could definitely was working hard on the graphics. It simply was stunning! I took another dip after I flew the 10 miles to downtown Paris with all the landmarks but I expected that. The buildings were amazingly redone. The lighting and shadow effects were spot on everywhere I looked. I have my PC specifications below, but I have to say the it made my NVIDIA RTX 2070 Super really work and kick out some heat. I’m afraid to think what I would see with the new 3000 series NVIDIA Video Cards. I have some screenshots below from ORBX on what some of the scenery look’s like.

The Conclusion

I an sum up my review of this product on just a few words, “BUY IT”. Once again, the scenery was simply amazing. I give it a definite five out of five stars. If you like to fly over in Europe or fly international flights with the big airliners, it is a sure must-have. If you would like to purchase this product, please go to the link below.

Lovely! The Blue Crew did a flight over Paris in XP11. Particularly over the Notre Dame Cathedral, (’cause it had just burned IRL), and like you said Mongo, THIS is at least THREE-NOTCHES above that! Thx.
