iniBuilds has officially pulled back the curtain on one of its most ambitious projects yet. The iniBuilds A340 Airliner is now live, exclusively for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, and it comes stacked with features that will make even seasoned simmers take notice.

What’s in the Box

The release focuses on the A340-313, powered by CFM56-5C4 engines. The package includes three variants: a standard passenger model, a passenger-to-freight conversion (“preighter”), and an ACJ business configuration. It’s available for both PC and Xbox, but remains exclusive to MSFS 2024.

Expect full EFB integration, failure logic, robust systems simulation, and a wide selection of liveries and cabin layouts right out of the gate.

Flight Dynamics & Systems

iniBuilds has developed the A340’s flight and systems modeling from the ground up, and the results look exceptional.

Aerodynamics and Drag:
Built using MSFS 2024’s new fuselage modeling, the aircraft’s four-engine layout now more accurately affects crosswinds, sideslip, and drag.

Ground Handling:
With MSFS 2024’s updated ground contact model, the A340 feels heavier and more realistic during taxi. Overaggressive tiller or rudder inputs can cause skids and tire marks.

Flaps and Slats:
Custom logic controls slat and flap behavior, especially noticeable during low-speed or slats-only operations.

Engine and Performance Modeling:
EGT, FADEC behavior, fuel flow, oil pressure, and consumption are all deeply simulated. True to its real-world reputation, the A340 isn’t quick off the line—climbs can take up to 40 minutes depending on load. Pilots who rotate too aggressively risk tail strikes.

Fly-by-Wire Feel:
The A340’s FBW system has a heavier, more gradual response than later Airbus designs, producing a smoother, less “snappy” roll behavior.

Visuals and Immersion

To keep performance optimized, iniBuilds has avoided 4K and 8K textures in favor of a decal-based livery system that preserves visual quality while reducing VRAM usage.

The A340 is also the first iniBuilds aircraft to use MSFS 2024’s new engine shader effects. Expect impressive visuals with realistic environmental touches like wing vapor trails, over-wing vortices, tire and brake wear, and dynamic weathering.

Because it’s built solely for MSFS 2024, iniBuilds fully leveraged the new engine’s modular object systems, LOD tuning, and node optimizations to achieve smoother performance.

Systems and Cabin Details

The A340 goes beyond standard airliner simulation.

  • An onboard printer allows INITs, takeoff data, and weather printouts that appear physically in the cockpit.
  • Door and slide logic have been modeled, so unarming a door incorrectly could trigger a slide deployment.
  • The cabin features realistic temperature zones that respond dynamically to aircraft systems, open doors, and external conditions.
  • The EFB (Electronic Flight Bag) includes a refreshed layout with integration for Navigraph and LIDO navigation data.

What’s Still Unknown

No pricing or exact release date has been confirmed. VR support remains unverified, and while only the A340-313 is included at launch, iniBuilds has not ruled out additional variants in the future.

Final Word from Sky Blue Radio

iniBuilds has delivered one of the most detailed and technically sophisticated widebody aircraft ever seen in Microsoft Flight Simulator. Between the advanced systems, visuals, and realism, the A340 sets a new bar for long-haul simulation.

There are still questions about pricing and expansion plans, but what’s already here is a serious contender for the most impressive four-engine airliner in MSFS to date.
