Written by firstname.lastname@example.org on March 30, 2021
In 2019, Mikey McBryan (best known from the documentary series ‘Ice Pilots’) was set a challenge by his fans: could Mikey and a team of talented volunteers restore an abandoned DC-3 to flying condition in 6 months in time for the 75th Anniversary of D-Day? Mikey recently recalled the original condition of ‘DTD’ during an interview with Willy Canuck in 2020 when it was found in a field in near Montreal. In fact, a squirrel was living in the cockpit!
In a landmark YouTube series spread over 156 episodes, Mikey committed thousands of hours to manage and document the incredible restoration of a D-Day veteran warbird. With support from an Army of aviation specialists, could the impossible be achieved? – Could DTD fly again in time to commemorate the most significant aerial event of World War 2?
Building to a dramatic final episode full of memories, exaltation and tears, the Season 1 of PlaneSavers is an emotional roller-coaster that brings a simple story of heritage and dedication to dramatic end. Check out the first episode of Planesavers here: Episode 1 of PlaneSavers here…..
