HiFi Sim announces the update to Active Sky Next!

Written by on April 16, 2015

Active Sky Next Service Pack 2B has been officially released!

This new service pack provides many enhancements, fixes, and new compatibility with P3D v2.5 (with optional hotfixes) and FSX:SE.  With SP2B, we’ve raised the bar even further in high-fidelity weather simulation.

IMPORTANT NOTE: P3D v2.4 is not supported in ASN SP2B.  To use P3D v2.4, please use ASN SP1B and do not upgrade to SP2B.  Later SP versions, as always, are designed to integrate with the latest simulator versions and take advantage of newer features.

Thanks go out to all our customers, supporters, staff, developers, private beta team, and all OPEN BETA participants who helped us to get SP2B ready for official release.

New Features:

  • Even Higher Performance
A completely re-designed ASConnect interface with new radar data communication routines is optimized in native C++ code and fine tuned for the best possible performance on all kinds of PCs and configurations

  • New Compatibility with New Simulator Versions
Prepar3D v2.5 (with latest hotfixes) and FSX:Steam Edition are now supported

  • Improved Stability
From installation, configuration, automatic checks, to normal and extreme usage, we’ve improved stability across the board

  • Miscellaneous enhancements and fixes
Improved tcp/ip comms, improved effects logic, turbulence adjustments, visibility adjustments and more – See the changelog below!

Active Sky Next is a full-featured weather simulation engine from HiFi Technologies that incorporates unique high-fidelity features including realistic radar, smooth weather changes, cloud-synchronized ambient effects, microbursts, wind shear, wake turbulence, vertical air simulation, terrain-based draft effects, third-party integration, high-resolution weather data, historical data access and much, much more.
