As expected, Microsoft Flight Simulator developer Got Friends has released the Astro ONE eVTOL (electric vertical take-off and landing) personal racing drone. We wrote about this imminent release earlier this week, and we can now confirm that the product is available for purchase from the Got Friends web store.

The Astro ONE is available for $9.99 for a limited time between April 20th and April 27th. Thereafter, the aircraft will sell for $12.99. At this time, the aircraft is only available from the Got Friends website, though the developer says that it should later become available from the Microsoft PC and Xbox Marketplace.

About The Astro ONE

The Astro ONE is based on the real-world Jetson ONE quadcopter, which sells for a whopping $98,000. The aircraft is quite similar in nature to a consumer drone, featuring a number of safety features that prevent collisions with obstacles, and features a hover mode, which allows the pilot to release the controls and allow the aircraft to hover in place until the pilot is ready to continue flying. If safety protections aren’t your thing, they can be disabled in ‘sports mode’, which also delivers maximum power to all four motors for racing and potentially other death-defying adventures.

For fans of customization, the Astro ONE allows you to add equipment like propellor guards, mirrors, and more to make the aircraft your own, and your options will be saved, so you don’t have to keep adding them each time you start your simulation. Simmers will also have access to 24 liveries with customer lighting for additional personalization.

A Bonus Scenery Is Included

Got Friends has also partnered with Emerald Scenery Design to include what’s called ‘Astro Corsa’, a fictional racecourse in Moab, Utah, that will allow you to take the flying machine through its paces — with or without flight safety protections! With bright neon lights, the course is aesthetically unique, and certainly seems like a great place to get familiar with the aircraft’s flight dynamics.

About Got Friends

Got Friends specializes in Microsoft Flight Simulator development and is comprised of four self-described aviation enthusiasts. The company was founded in 2021, and currently has a number of payware and freeware products on offer.
