Fenix Posts Development Update

Written by on September 21, 2021

Fenix has yesterday posted a new development update regarding their upcoming rendition of Airbus A320 for Microsoft Flight Simulator. This development update took place on their website, as usual.

This development post covers some new features and a brief update regarding their alpha team. Because the alpha team has been extended, the developer is now able to compare the performance of the aircraft on low-end and high-end systems.

The biggest performance eater is, according to the developer, the displays in the aircraft. The major performance loss is caused by the refresh rate of the displays. This issue persists from the old Flight Simulator X. FenixSim has created a utility application, in which you can optimise the performance of the aircraft even more.

If you feel like the A320 by Fenix is taking a lot of your GPU performance, you can change the rendering of the displays to an integrated graphics module. This, however, may not work with many AMD CPUs, which don’t have integrated graphics in the chip.

This also led to changes in the aircraft itself, and it should now perform better compared to the older alpha versions. As this has been addressed, most of the work is now turning to system-side bugs. Aamir also stated that they are still looking for front-end developers for the project.
