Awaited Transall C-160 by AzurPoly Now Released For MSFS

 

French aircraft and scenery developer AzurPoly took to their Facebook page to announce the release of their highly anticipated Transall C-160 rendition for Microsoft Flight Simulator.

General release information

The developer vows that the Transall C-160 is their most complex aircraft rendition out of all their projects. As explained in their presentation post, they avoided reusing MSFS avionics in favour of developing accurate aircraft systems. The development team even visited a retired C-160 aircraft from the French Air Force. This allowed the team to add many intricate features to their aircraft model.

Furthermore, the C-160 includes both military and civilian aircraft features in their rendition. Additionally, the Transall-C160 comes with 11 custom liveries. This will allow simmers to operate a wide array of operations. Among the many possibilities, this includes humanitarian missions, cargo transport or tactical operations. The aircraft also comes with an extensive manual and paint kit.

Finally, the developer stated that some more advanced features are not yet implemented on the rendition. They will be added during further updates. In other words, the developer is committed to getting “as close as possible to a ‘study-level’ add-on”.

The Transall C-160 by AzurPoly is now available on the MSFS Marketplace for €29.91. The aircraft is compatible with both PC & Xbox platforms.

History of the C-160

The Transall C-160 is a military transport aircraft produced by Transport Allianz, a joint venture between France and Germany. The aircraft was designed during the late 50s to meet the requirements of a modern transport aircraft for the German and the French Air Force.

The C-160 made its maiden flight in 1967 and saw extensive operational history under the French and German forces. Nowadays, only the Turkish Air Force operates the C-160, with the two former operators retiring their C-160s in favour of the more modern Airbus A400M Atlas.
