Another runway near-miss? Atlanta-bound plane nearly lands on occupied airport taxiway

Four months after a passenger jet nearly landed on a crowded SFO taxiway prompting international shockwaves, federal investigators are probing a frighteningly similar incident at an airport across the country. The National Transportation Safety Board announced Wednesday that it launched an investigation into a Nov. 29 incident at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport where Delta Air Lines Flight 2196 from Indianapolis veered to the left of its assigned runway and aligned with a taxiway occupied by another full jetliner. San Jose Mercury News
