Just a few days after the development announcement, the developers at Aeroplane Heaven, a well-established aircraft addon developer that is in the community for over two decades now, have released their rendition of the legendary Electra 10-A aircraft for Microsoft Flight Simulator.
Known for their historic aircraft renditions for various flight sim platforms, Aeroplane Heaven has developed the aircraft to a high level offering a plethora of features and small details like authentic cockpit recreation with a handful of animations, interactive elements in the 3D cabin, or accurate flight dynamics.
Of course, you can’t expect a modern cabin with tight seats and various indicators and USB ports, but you will instead get to enjoy a cabin with comfy armchairs with normal curtains you would nowadays have at home. Not to mention the glass window that allows the passengers to watch what is happening in the cockpit.
The developers have also included an option to enable modern avionics in the aircraft in case you would not get a hand of the authentic, old, systems or would just like to switch and experience a more modern flying with the aircraft. The complete feature list can be found below in the article.
The aircraft addon can be purchased through the Aeroplane Heaven’s website for $31.95 or about €27.60.
For those unfamiliar with the aircraft, Lockheed 10-A Electra is a twin-engined monoplane airliner developed back in the 1930s to compete with the Douglas DC-2. The aircraft especially came to the minds of the public when Amelia Earhart used it in 1937 to fly around the world, unfortunately unsuccessfully after disappearing somewhere above the Pacific ocean.
