The T-33 has a storied history, originating as the P-80 Shooting Star in 1945—the United States’ first jet fighter. Its two-seat variant, the TF-80C, debuted in 1948 and was later re-designated as the T-33. Over the years, the T-33 served in a variety of roles, from an initial jet training platform and advanced IFF trainer to a drone director, target towing, aggressor, and even combat missions during the Korean War.
This project has been a collaborative effort, with SimWorks Studios contributing to the systems modeling and flight dynamics, while our iniBuilds Premier Aircraft team handled the remaining elements. We are particularly grateful to Gregory ‘Wired’ Colyer from AceMaker Aviation, the world’s most experienced T-33 pilot, with over 3,000 hours on type, for his invaluable insights and support.
