Remote towers ‘inevitable’ in U.S., FAA safety chief says

Only one U.S. airport has tested a remote air traffic control tower, but their integration into the National Airspace System (NAS) is “inevitable,” FAA’s top safety executive believes. “Remote towers are going to have to happen. It’s inevitable,” FAA Associate Administrator for Aviation Safety Ali Bahrami said during a round-table discussion at MRO Americas in April. Aviation Daily
